Our Mission

Mission Statement

The Health Justice Conference is an annual student run conference that seeks to promote advocacy. We focus on ways in which Upstate students and healthcare professionals can serve as social advocates both personally and professionally.

This year's theme for HJC 2024 is "Health Advocacy through Education: Illuminating Pathways to Progress”.

This year, we will highlight the avenues to uplift marginalized communities by increasing awareness of key social issues impacting health. We aim to utilize education as a tool to formulate strategies for advocacy and positive change.

Health disparities and challenges to accessing adequate healthcare are major issues in our country and world today. By working to alleviate these disparities, we can ensure better health outcomes for disadvantaged populations in hopes of ultimately reaching health equity for all.

“Of all the forms of inequality, injustice in healthcare is the most shocking and inhumane.”

— Martin Luther King Jr.
