Our Mission

Mission Statement

The Health Justice Conference is an annual student-run event dedicated to fostering advocacy and empowerment among Upstate students and healthcare professionals.

Our theme for HJC 2025, "Beyond Labels: Unveiling Intersectional Pathways to Health Equity," aims to elevate marginalized communities by increasing awareness of critical social issues that affect health. We believe education is a powerful tool for developing effective advocacy strategies and driving positive change.

In today's society, health disparities and barriers to accessing quality healthcare remain pressing challenges. By addressing these inequalities, we strive to improve health outcomes for disadvantaged populations and move closer to achieving health equity for all.

“Of all the forms of inequality, injustice in healthcare is the most shocking and inhumane.”

— Martin Luther King Jr.
